Paul C. Looney has been a trial lawyer for over 30 years, representing clients in criminal defense, civil litigation, and personal injury cases throughout Texas and nationwide. From 1995 to 2024, he built a winning streak of 60 criminal jury trials with zero final convictions, an achievement that sets him apart in the legal field.
A graduate of West Texas State University, Mr. Looney earned degrees in Economics and Political Science before completing his Doctorate of Jurisprudence at South Texas College of Law. His courtroom skills and deep knowledge of the law have made him a sought-after attorney for high-profile cases.
Beyond criminal defense, he has significant experience handling personal injury and civil cases, though he firmly believes that criminal defense trials require the highest level of skill and preparation.

Waller County Sheriff’s Office Oversight Committee
Following the death of Sandra Bland in the Waller County jail in 2015, Paul Looney was appointed as a non-voting ex-officio member of a five-person committee tasked with recommending policy changes to improve jail conditions and law enforcement practices. The committee’s findings were instrumental in shaping policies for jails across the United States.
